Meet the Team

Balmoral Veterinary Services have a highly skilled and experienced team to ensure that your pet has the best care possible.

Suzanne Craig

Suzanne Craig is a fully qualified veterinary surgeon with 26 years’ experience. This includes 13 years in the UK dealing with a huge variety of species and a wide variety of problems.

Suzanne is born and bred in South Otago and is married to Richard, of Richard Schofield Photography. They have a daughter, Annie, to keep them busy. Between them they are proud parents of Bob, Katie and Domino - a lovely tabby cat with a Garfield outlook on life, a mad German Shepherd that is totally terrorised by Bob, and a young white and black puss who is Annie's girl!

Pauline McLaren

Pauline joined our crew in October 2014, and has been the face behind the reception desk since. She and her husband, Miles, share responsibility for Fergus and Tammy - two lovely Border Collies.

Nadia Lyders

Nadia joined us in February 2020as a new graduate from Otago Polytech with a Diploma Veterinary Nurse qualification. She is a mother of two dogs: Arla, who she adopted from Gore SPCA, and Cruz, a Labrador cross. She also loves competing in showjumping with her two horses, Tank and Beau.

Frances Mosley

Frances is our second receptionist, working Thursday & Friday afternoons, and every other Saturday morning. She used to work at the University in Dunedin, so is pleased to have a much shorter drive to work.. Frances and her husband Russell have 3 Chihuahuas,  Lilly, Dubai & Tammy.

Sarah Cragg

Sarah has returned from travelling in Europe and working in the UK in Feb 2017. Along with her husband, Dan, she has settled in Balclutha with their cat Lola.  They are looking forward to expecting their first baby this December.  Sarah enjoys all aspects of small animal work but is particularly pleased to be working with the New Zealand working dogs again.

Sarah joins us one or two days a week, to allow for an expansion of our work load and maybe allow Suzanne a bit of down time! The rest of her time is spent working in Gore.

Annie Schofield

Annie has been helping out with reception on Saturday mornings since Oct 2016. Prior to this she assisted in looking after the cattery when it was busy.

Annie goes to South Otago High School and is the proud mother of Domino (mentioned above).
